The Women’s History Network is a national association and charity for the promotion of women’s history and the encouragement of women and men interested in women’s history. Following its establishment in 1991 it have grown year by year and today it is a UK national charity with members including working historians, researchers, independent scholars, teachers, librarians, and many other individuals both within academia and beyond. Indeed, the network reaches out to welcome women and men from any background who share a passion for women’s history.
Our network represents the Midlands region and is affiliated to the national network. We are committed to increasing the range of academics, heritage professionals, independent researchers and community volunteers studying women’s history. We produce two conferences a year and encourage all of our members to present their research in person through presentations, round tables, exhibitions and temporary displays.
We are based at the University of Worcester and the regional Convenors are Professor Maggie Andrews, Dr Wendy Toon and Janis Lomas. The website and social media feeds are managed by Jenni Waugh.
